Wine Tours - Wineries in Israel

When people around the world think “exceptional wine”, the places which produce the best wine that come to mind are France, Italy, & California. Well, Israel should be added to that list because Israel has some great wines. In fact, the wine industry is booming.

Twenty years ago there were only about 10 wineries in the country and now there are about 300, of which 250 are boutique wineries! Israel has some great wineries and they come in all different shapes and sizes. We have large wineries like Carmel and Golan Heights Winery and we have small boutique wineries like Domaine de Castel and Yatir Winery. Some are family businesses such as Flam and Tishbi. Some have a social agenda such as Tulip which employs special needs people in their production process.

Wineries are found in all regions of the country from the Golan Heights in the north to the Negev in the south. Most have beautiful facilities for wine tasting and many also have restaurants or provide cheeses, breads and veggies as part of the wine tasting experience. One of my favorite is Adir Winery in the Galil which also has a goat dairy farm from which most of the accompanying meals are made.

In my opinion, no trip to Israel is complete without a visit to one of our amazing wineries. And why try only one? Let me incorporate a wine tour into your visit to Israel. I can also arrange wine tours for small groups up to 10 people.
