Let me bring you up north where much of Jesus' ministry took place. From Nazareth to the sites around the Sea of Galilee we will follow the life and times of Jesus. Below are four suggested day tours.

Sea of Galilee (Lake Kinneret) 1

* Yardenit-Baptismal Site on the Jordan River near the Sea of Galilee.

* Boat ride on the Sea of Galilee-Enjoy a boat across the Kinneret where many miracles were performed.

* Church of the Beatitudes-The church lies on the serene grounds where the Sermon on the Mount took place.

* Church of Multiplication-Marks the place of the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand.

* Church of the Primacy of Peter-Marks the spot of Jesus' reinstatement of Peter as chief among the Apostles.

* Magdalah-Home to Mary Magdalene. See ancient synagogue remains and the new beautiful Duc In Altum church.

 

Nazareth and Mount Tabor

* Church of the Annunciation-Built on Mary's cave, where the angel Gabriel told Mary she was carrying the messiah. 

* Church of Joseph's Carpentry-Close the Church of the Annunciation, where Joseph had his carpentry shop.

* Nazareth Village-Visit the recreated village typical of the time of Jesus.

* Mount Tabor-High on the mountain is the amazing Church of the Transfiguration of Jesus.

Between Jerusalem and the River Jordan

* Good Samaritan Inn-The only mosaic museum in the country, with remains of a Byzantine church. 

* Monastery of St. Gerasimos-One of the oldest monasteries in Israel, see the remains of monks killed in 614 .

* Qasr al Yahud-Baptismal site where Jesus was baptized. This is where the Children of Israel crossed the Jordan.
